The usual trend of students interested in psychology would be able to do a Bachelors degree in psychology. You could do a B.A or a B.Sc. or a B.A Hons in Psychology or a B.A (Hons) Applied Psychology depending on your interest. Taking an admission to B.Sc Psychology will not be possible as the eligibility for the same requires a Physics, Chemistry and Biology combination. If you have successfully qualified your 12th standard examination, you are eligible to apply for the other courses.
In some of the institutes, candidates seeking admission to these courses need to possess at least 40% marks in their qualifying examination. Some also conduct entrance exams. The duration of the course offered is three years. You could choose to pursue the course as a regular program or through distance mode. The choice of subject and the mode is yours and it depends on your individual interest, personality, aptitude, ability, strengths and career goals.

For a career in the IPS, you need to take the Civil Services exam conducted by the UPSC for which graduation is the minimum eligibility criteria.
IPS recruits undergo a very tough training course at Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel National Police Academy in Hyderabad. They are trained on how to play a leadership role in the police administration of a subdivision, district, range and state headquarters.
During the training, they study the internal and external environment in which the police force functions; analyse problems encountered on ground through experience sharing; evolve strategies and individual action plans to tackle them; and identify knowledge and skills needed for implementation of an action plan. On successful completion of training, they are assigned to various states and Union Territories.
The first posting of an IPS officer is that of Assistant Superintendent of Police or Sub-divisional Police Officer. He goes on to become Additional Superintendent of Police, Superintendent of Police, Deputy Inspector-General of Police (DIG), Additional IGP, IGP and finally, the DGP. The IPS officers also go on deputation to the Centre from time to time and hold responsible positions in the Special Protection Group (SPG), and paramilitary forces. The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) recruits personnel of the rank of Sub-Inspectors.
The basic qualification for taking the selection test (written exam and interview) is graduation plus certain standard physical requirements. The age requirement is 20-25 years. Sub-Inspectors can rise to become Inspectors, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), Superintendent of Police (SP), etc. For further information check: www.upsc.gov.in/.

In order to secure admission for any of the course it is a must that the candidates should satisfy certain criteria's. These will vary based on the course applied for and also institute in which the candidate has applied for. This will include both the general criteria's and academic criteria's. Also it is a must that the candidates will be required to submit proof of satisfying these criteria's.
Eligibility Criteria for Indian students for B.Tech Course:-
The candidate should be a Citizen of the country
The candidate should be at least 18 years old or above.
The maximum age should not exceed 23 years on the date of the exam
For the state level exams it is a must that the candidate applying should be domicile of the state i.e. they should have been residents of the state for at least 12 years. Some seats are reserved for these candidates. Also they should not have any criminal background.
Academic Eligibility Criteria for B.Tech Course
The candidate should have completed his 12th standard or higher secondary education. Also both Physics and Chemistry should be amongst the science subjects studied. The candidate should have studied Mathematics too as a subject. Some institutes also keep restrictions like those who have pursued English also as a subject should apply. The candidates are required for various entrance exams to secure admission. In many of the entrance exam it is a must that the candidates should have secured at least 60% marks in the above subjects. This varies from exam to exam.
Eligibility Criteria for Foreign Students for B.Tech Course:-
These students should have pursued course equivalent to the 12th standard. These include IGCSE, CBSE, A level etc. Also these students should have studied the subjects mentioned for the residents of the country. They should have secured a minimum of 60% in these subjects.

For enrollment as a Student member for actuarial science, one needs to be at least a graduate with a major subject in mathematical sciences such as mathematics, statistics, econometric, engineering and actuarial sciences. Generally, first class graduates or postgraduates in Mathematics, Statistics or Econometric will be in a better position than others to qualify as actuaries.
For most of the universities the eligibility for an M.Sc in Actuarial Science requires you to have completed B.Sc. Actuarial is ideal if you enjoy maths and statistics and would like to use your skills to model future events and risk.
The Actuarial Science examinations can be done through the ASI or IAI (Actuarial Society of India or Institute of Actuaries of India http://www.actuariesindia.org/ ) which is the sole Professional body of Actuaries in India. The examinations are tough and will really depend on your ability for hard work. Actuarial Science is mainly offered as a three year degree course by some universities, or as one of the subjects of a degree programme.
There are also short term courses in insurance or actuarial science, ranging from six months to two years. You need to clear a series of exams held by Actuarial Society of India, Mumbai. Actuaries employ a range of quantitative skills to evaluate risks and optimize the consequences of future events, with particular emphasis on financial effects and implications. Actuaries are employed extensively by insurance companies and the government, both for direct policy assessments and for financial planning; their value is recognized by the high salaries they command worldwide.

Current Affairs
History of India
Geography
Economics
Political System and the Constitution of India
General Sciences
Mathematics of class X standard
English
Any one regional language of India
Essay Writing
So, basically, you need to have strong base in almost every field and therefore, Its difficult to suggest you any particular subject or stream which might prove to be advantageous for the Civil Service Examination.
Depending upon your strength and weaknesses, you should work on the subjects mentioned above and try to work very hard in order to crack the exam because Civil Service Examination is one of the toughest entrance examination conducted in India and if you want to crack it, you must be very serious about it.
