After B Sc you may get opportunities in bank clerical cadre or as laboratory assistants in some institutions or firms. If you are bound to pursue a B Sc degree, a gentle advice would be to look for post graduation after your degree. You should have thought of doing B Tech/Medicine depending on your stream in +2 if you had at least a 50%. But nothing is not by looking for better opportunities.

If you want to pursue a career in a particular field related to ETRX like energy, communication, robotics, embedded then you should pursue post graduation. If you have not given GATE this yr then you can opt for preparation. If you still are not interested in this option then do a 5-6 months course in fields related to etrx like automation, embedded, CDAC and grab a job. Do job for 2 years, ask for sponsorship from company, complete your PG then, this will set ur career.

Academic score is part of selection process. The weightage of academic score is low.But there is some cutoff value also.(I do not exactly and it will be specified by the college). So if you are above the cutoff value,then you PI round will play a major role.
