Pursuing MMS/MBA from a reputed college (top 10) has undoubtedly more value, as compared to doing it from an average/below-average college. Irrespective of the degree (MBA/MMS/PGDM), do ensure that the college offering it is a reputed one. Hence, you may go for private college, or wait for the CAP rounds to get a better college.

If you are applying for MBA, then it's ruling is driven by Pune University, so it is same for all and cannot be changed. And, according to that, you have to pursue at least 50% marks to be to be eligible for the admission. But, if you are interested in PGDM, then you will be eligible if you have given CAT/MAT etc. Later on, if you do really well in your GD PI rounds, then you'll definitely get admission here.
