You have to be highly academic with excellent grades and extracurricular activities to be considered. This does not guarantee admissions, MIT has to find qualities in you which could make you an ideal student. Ask yourself why MIT should admit you?
Go through the MIT website rigorously, check the admission requirements and student profiles and prepare yourself accordingly. If you have the kind of profile gaining admissions won't be difficult.
