Swati, although you have liked the answers given by other experts but I humbly disagree with them a little bit. First of all, there is no research in B.E. course. The difference between the B.Sc. and B.E./B.Tech. is duration, content, depth of study and career opportunity. B.Sc. is 3 years duration science degree with limited career opportunity and lesser emoluments compared to B.E. which is 4 years degree with wider and better career opportunities in terms of salary and position both. The number of specialized subjects like Theory of computation, software principle, neural network, compiler design, artificial intelligence, advance computation etc are not part of B.Sc. curriculum but are taught in B.E. Mini projects, major project and industrial training are core of B.E. syllabus and are given more emphasis compared to B.Sc.
Software engineering as a subject is part of B.E. -CSE and IT branches but separate degree is not offered by majority of government and private colleges, in this field.
