If you have an average profile, I would recommend Australian universities because the entry requirements are comparatively lower in high ranked Australian universities. You need to arrange for the following scanned documents:
1. 10th and 12th mark sheets
2. Two Recommendation Letters - Can be from College on college's letter head with official email ID and Contact No. of the recommender
3. Copy of passport (Front and Last Page)
4. An English proficiency test (IELTS, PTE or TOEFL) - Target a score of 6.0 (no band less than 5.5 - IELTS)

And in Mains, 100 and above marks is required. They prepare their own merit list on the basis of 2 criteria:
First criteria has 70% of seats. Admissions are given by taking 25% weightage of JEE Mains and 75% of boards. Second criteria includes admission on the basis of board's marks only.
