First of all you should understand the syllabus and step of the exam. to become an IAS officer, you have to apply Civil Services Prelims exam. For this you must be a graduate and percentage is no bar at all.
The next step is to analyse the process and syllabus.
The Civil Services has 3 part i) Prelims 2) Main and 3) interview
For prelims, around 3 lakhs people apply every year and the rule is that 13 times of total available seats are sent to next round.
