It's almost impossible to get a scholarship with 58% in UG. There is only 1 hope, you will have to score 1500+ in the GRE. Any score less than that will blow out your chances of getting a scholarship completely.
All the best!

If you are looking at doing MTech abroad, maybe you can consider education at Newcastle University (UK). The University's postgraduate programmes are closely linked with research and many of their MSc students continue on to PhD studies.
You will find that their excellent facilities and good contacts with industry provide a strong basis for your career progression. They have a variety of options available in Mechanical to choose from. It is a 12 month taught programme and you only require a second class MEngg Honors degree and your English Language Proficiency Test.

Hi SANKET,
Software engg. can work in wide varities of areas
And civil engg. get good salary for per project.
So u see, no field can be compared with each others. They have imp. in their own ways.
And what to say about '''SCOPE'''.
Well it changes with time.
No one can exactly say that how much u will get from 4years now onwards if u choose civil or software.
So just follow ur interest. Think what suits u the BEST.
Think what u like- working on computers or making dams, etc
If you like this answer then kindly mark it as the best answer or rate it thumbs up. Please feel free to post queries if you have any.

Hi Umesh,
When going for your gd/pi do keep in mind that you are trying to go for a professional course. You have to dress for the part.
Wear proper formals
and a tie and if possible a blazer too.
What you wear must set u apart and show that you mean business. Attire is very important during a pi and apart from all this just be confident and speak clearly, take your time to speak and you will do well.
All the best for your gd pi,
Hope this has helped u.
Regards,
Counsellor
