In the age limit of 21-30 years
*The examination has three stages i.e.,
(1) Civil Services Preliminary Examinations (CSP) - normally conducted during the second half of May.
(2) Civil Services (Main) Examinations conducted during the month of October/November. Here, those who are selected in the preliminary examination only are eligible to appear.
(3) Those who are selected in the main examination will be eligible to appear before the Interview Board at New Delhi.

General issues on Environmental Ecology, Bio-diversity and Climate Change - that do not require subject specialization
General Science
Comprehension
Interpersonal skills including communication skills;
Logical reasoning and analytical ability
Decision-making and problem-solving
General mental ability
Basic numeracy (numbers and their relations, orders of magnitude, etc.) (Class X level), Data interpretation (charts, graphs, tables, data sufficiency etc. - Class X level)
English Language Comprehension skills (Class X level)

*Preparing for IAS requires combination of smartness and hard work. Do the right things to gain an edge over your competition:
*Get the right books for Prelims
*Start preparing at least 10 months before
*Solve past year questions to test yourself on regular basis
*Cover the scoring sections early
*Cover the syllabus strategically. Don't go for a "prepare all" approach for IAS prelims
*Balance paper 1 and 2
I would suggest you to spend quality time everyday by reading journals, magazines, newspapers, etc.

Please remember before going for pursuing studies abroad you need to first decide does the course will be helpful for you i.e. does it provide good job opportunities in India or abroad.
Please remember the cost of education in universities abroad would be much more as compared to education in India, so you need to decide whether it is worth to invest such a big amount.
Now coming to US and Canada then please remember US is the best study destination to pursue masters degree in Civil engineering but getting a US VISA is very difficult but job prospects in US is not good.
Getting a VISA for Canada is not difficult, but Canada has less number of good universities offering course of your interest, but Canada has good job prospects as compared to US.
However I would suggest you to try for a good Canadian university as compared to average American University.
