Yes, you can start preparing for UPSC right now but I don't think it would be very wise to concentrate on UPSC exams right away. You have the target of scoring good in B.Tech first and more importantly gain knowledge of this subject. However while studying for B.Tech you can select the information which would be essential for UPSC exam also and keep those notes separately on your computer systems. You may search for a mock test paper and find out which kind of information would be useful for you.

Hi Anthony,
There are number of CAT books available in the market. There are The three main sections of Common Admission Test are Logical Reasoning and Data Interpretation, Verbal Ability and Quantitative Ability.
For quantitative ability & logical reasoning section you should start going through the NCERT Books of class 9-12. Also consult books by Arun Sharma.
For Verbal ability I would say, you can purchase Wren and Marten & a good dictionary would to start your preparations. You should study good intermediate level text books on different subjects which will help you in Passage section of verbal ability. Read News paper regularly espe

hi kapil,
PGDM is the post graduate diploma in Mangement. it is a type of diploma and only provide by the autonomous institutions.
MBA is in the broader sense a MASTER Degree in Business Administration. and it is provide by those institute who are affilated to any University.
MBA have greater scope then PGDM. Because you can apply for govt. sector jobs only through MBA. But through PGDM you can apply in only private sector jobs.
