There are many girls who have done mechanical engineering. But due to mind set less girls choose mechanical engineering. But career wise you won't have any difficulty as a girl only during your third semester and 4th semester we have some labs wherein you have to do certain minimum physical work as a part of learning, which won't be that difficult. For 84.6 percentile, you can expect to get admission in many tier-1 colleges ranging from BITS pilani, SP Jain, Welingkar, Tata and many more. If you have category you can expect a call from one of the IIMs as well though the odds are very thin.
