Hi Biresh,
To get into a PhD programme one doesn't need an M.Phil degree. The eligibility to get into a PhD programme is a Masters degree with 55% to 60% aggregate marks from a recognized University. However, if you are looking for Fellowships or scholarships then in that case you need to clear UGC-NET or JRF or in some Institutes they would even consider M.Phil.

After English Hons you can opt for career options like Journalism and Mass comm. (writing for papers, magazines, and books, or you can find positions in editing and critiquing), Teaching, writing, editing, Advertising, Media. You can also pick up the language related jobs like translator etc. and enter tourism industry with this. Other good options could be Civil Services or MBA.
