A bachelor's degree in architecture (B.Arch) or Diploma in architecture is needed to become a qualified architect. The basic eligibility criteria for B.Arch is 10+2 (senior secondary Class XII) or equivalent referred to as the qualifying examination from a recognized Board/University with a minimum of 50% marks in Science subjects (Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics). Besides this, you must qualify an entrance examination.
I would suggest you to take which interests you and goes best with your skills and true abilities. If you'll take something that is not your cup of tea, it would eventually result in disaster. Take help from your faculty in school who would help your parents understand the point.

You need to take GRE test if you wish to pursue Phd in science and engineering fields, GMAT is a test which need to be taken by students who wish to pursue MBA from USA.
In order to pursue Phd, from universities abroad, you need to first of all make a list of the universities that you aspire for, then send emails to respective course department, asking them to provide you the eligibility criteria and selection procedure for PHD students.
It may take three to six years to complete your PHD, depending on the field you select and your mentor.
The general eligibility criteria for PHD students are as follows:
In majority of the institutes, Master's Degree is an essential pre-requisite for a Ph.D.
It is important that you have good scores in common entrance tests.
