Yes, you can get admission in middle and lower order NITs like NIT Patna, NIT Jalandhar, NIT Jamshedpur, NIT Durgapur etc. You should apply for branches like IT, electronics engineering, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, civil engineering etc. Getting CSE in NIT with this rank will be difficult. Although first preference should be computer science engineering, then all these branches.
Yes, in IEM he will get computer science engineering.

It is not possible for you to get admission in any of the NITs and IITs. It is better for you to get admission in some private colleges which accept JEE Score, or use college predictor tool which will help you.

Yes, your son will definitely get admission in IEM. For CSE it might be little difficult, you have to wait till the last round. But other streams like ECE, IT, Electrical, Mechanical will be easily available. Also, since 80% seats are allotted through WBJEE rank he can get any stream if his rank is below 4k in WBJEE
