Hi Tina, The National Eligibility Test NET is conducted every year in the months of June and December by the University Grants Commission for lectureship and Junior Research Fellowship
A candidate is eligible for appearing for UGC NET only if :-
- The candidate must have completed his post graduation in any stream with an aggregate of 55% without rounding off.
- The JRF candidates must be less than 28 years of age. Yes, you are definitely eligible for appearing for the UGC NET in Environmental Science as that is the closest to your branch. Regards.

Changing University after a year is not possible as different Universities have their own set of rules and regulation. You will have to study from 1st year again. So, no universities will give you admission in 2nd year on the basis of doing 1st year from different year. However, you can change course after 1st year or change institute affiliated to same university.
