B.Tech+MBA is a good combination. The 70% crowd of IIMS consist of engineers. I myself is an engineer and now pursuing MBA from Doon Business School, Dehradun. I got into the college with 93.5%ile in CAT.

HBTI is no longer part of UPTU. You can't take admission in HBTU on the basis of UPTU. You can take admission on the basis of JEE Main marks.

Try for schools apart from IIMS. FMS, Delhi is a good option. Doon Business School, Dehradun is also a likely option as the fee is reasonable and quality of education is at par with the top business schools.

You are talking about IIT right. For that JEE advance is needed. Percentage required is 75 %. And if you are talking about NIT (Mains ) then 60%. Hope that helps.
