Hi Sahil,
According to latest information, the IIT Joint Admission Committee is contemplating to introduce a written section in JEE 2017. Making the rat race tougher, this new step is likely to increase the level of complexity to an exam which is already considered the toughest in the country due to its multifaceted percentile system.

Hi Sahil,
Yes, according to the latest notification by CBSE , student needs to have minimum 75% in class 12th or he/she needs to be in the top 20 percentile of there respective boards to appear for JEE Mains 2017 and from 2017 no 40% weightage will be given to 12th marks in calculating the final JEE score.

75% is not a criteria. There is a cutoff which is changed every time depending on the difficulty of the paper. Students who qualify are eligible for giving JEE-advance.

Sandeep, don't go with which stream is better. Go with what you want do after studying B.Tech. You may take following considerations. If you like computer, want to build crazy application or something related to software go with Computer Science engineering. If you like playing with machines/motors or electricity go ahead with Mechanical engineering. Or Electrical engineering. If you are India, after studying Electronics and communication engineering most of the students gets job/work in IT companies. Only few percent gets chance in electronics companies.
