Padmaja,
To my knowledge Testing is quite common field to chose. As many students feel Testing is very easy so doing courses and trying in Testing. But Testing is not really in Demand in today's date. You can check for other good options where people have not looked yet and which will boom in future.
IT Security or IT System Administration (Linux/UNIX/AIX) or IT Database administration could be a good option as many jobs are now available. No doubt there will be a problem of your degree, education or past experience but if you could get very strong knowledge with certification, chances would be fare in future.

Hi Janvi,
If you are doing a Distance education programme from SMU it would not be easy for you to change your field, as Distance Education MBA generally doesn't hold much value in the job market and only good for those working professional who are looking for growth in their current organization. So, if you are very keen on changing your career field you may face difficulty in the beginning and you may have to start your career as HR profession from a lower level and with the lesser income. I would suggest you to keep all the pros & cons in mind before taking any decision.
Hope this resolve your query. Feel free to put up more queries I

See, its not just the exam for the IAS which you have to take, but the interview will follow it too. So, you must have a strong command on your G.K. the most. Other subjects are important too, but I think G.K. leads them all.
