Yes. it would help you in your IAS preparations. I agree with Shiksha Expert Ankita, you have to prepare for IAS on larger scale, you can look further for programs which have inbuilt IAS coaching in their curriculum. Like I've head about 'MA Public Policy with Civil Services Coaching and Test preparation embedded' of UPES university. First of all relax. Many of the students who choose their branch have no idea on what field to take. Now continue on the field you most like "Innovations happen when you show maximum dedication and interest", Engineering is a huge course spanning across 4 years trust me only your interest and motivation in the field of your interest will help you get through the final 3 years of the course.

The job situation in USA is very competitive.The student need to be extremely talented and skillfull to get a job in USA.
Salary is a function of various factors - i.e. (i) the institute where you have completed your B.Tech + M.Tech. e.g. a graduate from a top institute will command a higher salary. (ii) Your work experience - organization and type of work profile (iii) city - a metropolitan city will have higher salaries as compared to smaller cities and towns. (iv) Your current organization - i.e. where you will be joining - an MNC usually has higher salaries as compared to other organizations.
