Sales and marketing is not only related to commodity products and retail, but it also has a diversified sectors like finance, insurance, banking, IT, manufacturing. So, in my view, sales and management is a better option.

The syllabus of UGC NET has been revised by the Commission including both the Papers. The upcoming UGC NET Exam Syllabus will be applicable from June 2019 session. So, now the candidates will face the updated syllabus (more than 40%) in exam. Paper 1 will be designed to test the aspirants teaching and research ability whereas Paper 2 will be based on subject that you choose. The syllabus of Paper 1 will be common to all subjects. If you want to score well in exam, then it is essential to make command over the Paper 1. Hope it help.
