Genetics is theoretical part and applied genetics is practical. Genetic engineering which employees gene therapy to manipulate genetics structure for desired gene insertion or removal comes under applied genetics. It's like using genetics in industry to benefit from it. Genetics as a subject will teach about the genome, eugenetics, transcription translation and the application part while applied genetics teaches how to make use of the knowledge that genetic studies have given.

Both of the colleges are doing well. But, as an option, UPES is better with its faculties and placements.

Your rank will secure you a good branch in both colleges. What BIT Jaipur lacks for in terms of infrastructure, it makes up for with it's faculty and placement record. LNMIIT has a vast infrastructure and facilities. Again, this is a debatable topic and it wouldn't do any harm if you discuss the quality of education there with some current undergrad. In the end, it all comes down to what and how you are taught.
