Both the options are good but will entirely depend on your area of interest and your career aspirations. If you are keen to pursue a career in engineering and technology field, then opting for B.tech through lateral entry is way to go. But before you take this step, do keep in mind that you will be investing another 3 years for a bachelor degree and will later have to pursue Masters, as and when required.

Firstly you have not mentioned anything regarding the exam that you plan to give, but assuming that you must be inquiring about the M.tech entrances, there are many depending on the institute's admission criteria.
