It depends on what is your aim. If you want to apply for MBA abroad or ISB-Hyderabad then GMAT is mandatory and ISB, as well as institutes abroad, accept an only candidate with some work experience for ISB it goes to around 3 years experience and good colleges abroad around 6 years. Accordingly, you should decide.

Mechanical engineering is much better than automobile engineering as after doing mechanical engineering, you can make your career in auto industry, manufacturing industry, tool Industry, production industry PSUs and a lot more. After automobile engineering, you are restricted only one sector that is auto mobile. Now a days, a lot of private colleges provide automobile engineering which has seriously no value and nor any companies prefers students of such college. Automobile engineering is only good when you are getting some top colleges or government colleges like IITs, NITs, PEC, DTU, NSIT, State Government Engineering Colleges, etc.

In an order to get a good college or even just to enroll in any course in any given college, you must clear your compartment exam. Most colleges don't give you admission in any course if you have a compartment in any subject. The fact that you scored well in other subjects will be overlooked and will not matter.

Hello Sneha,
You seems to have scored really low in 12th. What happened? You have scored reasonably well in CET, but your low marks would be hindrance. My advise would be to go for arts or fine arts. There are enough openings in this field also.
