My 2 cents on the same. See the choice of management specialization should be based on two factors
1. Interest
2. Skills
If you are interested in a particular domain, may be you wont be able to earn much in the initial years of your work life, but with experience you will gain expertise and develop skills to climb up the ladder fast.
Skills are definitely important as far as success is concerned because this way you will be able to prove your mettle in the domain and work.
Coming to your question for HR or Operations, HR is best for those who have very good people management skills and score high on understanding psychology and organizatio
