Hi Shivani, Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) is an all India examination administered and conducted jointly by the Indian Institute of Science and Seven Indian Institutes of Technology on behalf of the National Coordination Board-GATE, Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), Government of India.
After successful completion of B.Tech generally students opt for M.Tech. Aspirants can apply for GATE exam in order to pursue M.Tech. It is an all India test. The test is administered by top technology institutes. Most of the institutes also conduct a personal interview round.
In order to prepare for the exam you require the right approach along with the right study materials and strategy.
* You need to know the content of the test, to ace it. You should be organized and follow a time-table.
* Plan your preparation after knowing your strengths and weaknesses and take a diagnostic test.
* When you get a grip over the basic syllabus, you should start taking regular mock tests to know your preparation status and analyse your performance.

Also I would like to say that education in Germany is a good option as it is govt. funded so you may have to give a very minimal fee ranging between 140- 500 euros.
For more details, I would request you to visit the nearest DAAD office. DAAD is officially authorized to provide information about education in Germany. They have offices in major cities in India.
If possible go for a German language course as it will help you find a part time job. A student in Germany can work 90 full days or 180 half days.
