As your age mentioned is 36 years, the maximum for being eligible to apply at civil services is 30 years for a general category applicant and by that you are not eligible for applying to the exam.

The most important thing which one should keep in mind while choosing ones stream is his/her own interests and career aspirations. However, as Mechanical is a core Engineering field through which you can always get into other fields like Civil, Mechatronics, Aerospace, Nanotechnology etc. so better would be that you opt for Mechanical.

The most important thing which you need to keep in mind while choosing your course specialization is your own interests and career aspirations. After completing your B.Com, you can either opt for M.Com, MBA, MFC, Masters in Finance or other Accounts related courses like CFA, CA, CWA etc. you can also opt for Actuarial or can go for civil services etc.

Hi Sumit,
It would not be possible to get admission into any Engineering Institute which is accepting AIEEE marks, with such low scores. I would suggest you to reappear for AIEEE or else go for other state level entrances like UPSEE and try your luck with state level Institutes.
