Hi Ashwini,
Although, to an extent yes it would affect but if you work on all the other factors and score a really well on CAT say 99+ percentile and if your academic background is strong enough then, it would be a cover-up for this GAP. However, it is only at the PI level that this question about your GAP year would be raised and you need to be prepared for it with some good reasoning. I would say give them the right picture.
Hope this will be of help. Feel free to put up more queries In case your query is resolved please close this question by choosing it as a best answer or pressing the thumbs up icon.

Hi Ramesh,
As, there is no public ranking or neutral rating given to the Distance Education Institutes almost all the institutes are placed equally. However, few of the popular Institutes are: IMT, Amity, Symbiosis, IGNOU, Annamalai etc.

Hi Rahul,
Although, all three of the Institutes are good but as there is no neutral ranking or public rating for such coaching institutes it would be difficult to rate any of the Institute as a best or a second best.
However, Few of the Things which you should keep in mind while selecting the Coaching Institute are: The overall India presence of the Institute, The Study Material, The Infrastructure, student faculty ratio, faculty background, number of classes, number of doubt clearing sessions, whether or not they provide AIR ranking etc. if possible also try and talk with few of the current batch students of the Institute and also one

Hi Sanjay,
If you want to get into garment retail the best option would be to either opt for a full time MBA programme in Retail Management or short term courses in the same. You can also look for courses in Apparel or textile retail. Few of the institutes with which you may try are: IRS, Pearl Academy of Fashion, & Indian Institute of Retail, The Retail Academy, etc.
