The most important thing which you should keep in mind while choosing your career options is your own interests and career aspirations. Being the Arts graduate the options open you are Mass Comm. & journalism, teaching, fashion designing, Hospitality related courses.
There are several others but it would really depends on the fact that which is your area of passion as the area you have interest in would be the area where you will excel.

If you are looking for an MBA you can go for the Universities as Universities will always give you MBA and not PGDM. If you are looking for Part time programmes try with FMS, Mumbai University etc. For Correspondence programme you can consider IGNOU.

Although, to an extent yes it would affect but if you work on all the other factors and score a really well on CAT say 99+ percentile and if your academic background is strong enough then, it would be a cover-up for this GAP. However, it is only at the PI level that this question about your GAP year would be raised and you need to be prepared for it with some good reasoning. I would say give them the right picture.
