Career scope in IT and software engineering is vast. depends on you as to what you choose - coding and programming or testing or a business analyst role. As such there is no additional formal degree that is needed - but yes incase you are interested in software testing there is always a benefit to get enrolled and learn testing tools that would help you advance in your career. Further, once you are in the field and start working additional certifications from time to time in your particular area of work would help you advance knowledge and grow further.

Last two years are not so good for IT/CSE industry but nowadays these are having a boom in the market as well as in the industry.So, you can make carrer through B.E./B.Tech. in CSE/IT but you must have certain certifications like SCJP, CCNA or OCA etc
