You can directly appear for CPL exams conducted by DGCA. There is no such need to appear for PPL exam first to get CPL. You can study yourself but some guidance is always good because these subjects will be new to you. So, prepare accordingly.

You do stand a fair chance of getting a call from Welingkar as they consider an overall score of your GDPI, your past academics, your extracurricular and your percentile. Now converting the call totally depends on how well your GDPI goes. Having a work experience would prove to be an addition for you and it would surely give you some advantage over the rest.

But, the main thing is that in a B-school, most of the lecturers are having Ph.D. degree. So, if you can do so, your chances will be much better that before. I think, you got my point.
