NIOS is a board under ministry of HRD, Government of India and very much valid. However, for engineering admission you need to take care of following
1. You must have cleared all the paper in one single attempt, no compartments
2. You must have studied English, Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Mathematics
3. Please check rule of your state board whether they have minimum 5 or 6 subjects. If it is six, you must have passed senior secondary with six subjects
