Hi Vaibhav,
Firstly ask yourself what kind of job you want and what kind of job you can do. Instead of running after a high salary package first know where your talent lies, focus on getting admission and perform academically very well. Not everyone is fit to do everything, you I am sure have your own interests and passions and also your own skills, please figure out. And decide what to study accordingly. It can be business, management, hospitality, engineering, etc. as per your education background and interests

For UG courses a score of 6 with no section less than 5.5 is preferred so you may be considered, check with the colleges if they still require higher scores because it depends on the college. Keeping aside the IELTS score you must also have the relevant education background and good percentile.

A gap taken for MBA exams preparations is quite common nowadays, so it's not really an issue. However, one should make the most of this gap time by utilizing it for other activities like certification courses, internships, social work, etc. These activities will ensure you edge over the other freshers (in terms of the resume) and also highlight your interest in past academics and/or future MBA stream. A gap taken solely for the exam preparations might create a negative impact on the interviewers, as these exams generally require 3-4 hours daily.
