The importance of oil & gas is coming down with thrust being given on solar energy. On the other hand, I have not seen any special preference for aerospace in HAL, ISRO, IAF & DRDO. Go as per your interest and excel in the selected area - you will make your career definitely. Best wishes.

IMI Bhubaneswar uses CAT/XAT/CMAT/GMAT scores along with sectional scores and other academic parameters like marks in 10th, 12th and graduation for the purpose of shortlisting. The selection criteria are independent of CAT/XAT/CMAT/GMAT scores. It varies across the years just as the short-listing criteria and depends on the overall profile of the applicants each year. But the minimum should be above 60 to qualify.

All these years, these agencies have been hiring electronic & mechanical engineers and giving them on the job training. The ads of these organisations continue to look for electronic / mechanical engineers as availability of aerospace engineers is limited.

50% or above marks are considered as eligibility criteria for admission process and later your admission shall purely be based on the performance during the admission process. And once you join Christ, your practical knowledge would be tested more during examinations rather than bookish knowledge.
