It doesn't matter whether you have completed your degree 5 or 7 years back, every student is eligible for MBA there are students who have more than 10 years of work experience even they opt for MBA. Although, advisable would be that you should opt for a full time MBA programme through a decent Institute which will not only give you great exposure but also helps you in getting placed well, but if you can not go for full time programme you can opt for a distance learning programme through a decent Institutes like IMT, IGNOU, Annamalai University.

As you are B.Tech student and writing is completely different fields do ponder on the reasons why you want to get into writing profession and advisable would be that you pursue the career in engineering itself. However, if you want to get into writing field you can either go for Technical writing or can opt for some short term creative writing courses, as you are from Engineering background it would be difficult to get into degree programme in English literature which otherwise would have been a perfect option to get into writing field.
