Work Experience is not as such require for this course however if you have one then its good for you . Information science is not at par with the IT as both fields objectives are different from each other as Information Technology is the study, design, development, implementation, support or management of computer-based information systems, particularly software applications and computer hardware." IT deals with the use of electronic computers and computer software to convert, store, protect, process, transmit, and securely retrieve information. On the other hand Information Science refers to the study of computer-based information systems, problem-solving techniques, and the application of these to a wide range of commercial, scientific and industrial settings.

However, no doubt you have got a good amount of work experience, but most of the Universities would require a Graduation Degree for admission in their PG programs. As you have mentioned that you have a certificate equivalent to graduation you can try for PG programs, but I cannot assure you that you will get admission.
My suggestion is that you should directly get in touch with few of the Universities giving PG level program of your choice and see if they will accept your certificate. As far as 12th is concerened, one option is that you get a duplicate copy from your school if that is not possible then you can use your provicinal certificate & marksheets. Anyways, if you are going for a PG program what would matter more would be your graduation degree.
