It would be better for you to chosse from the subjects you have had at your graduation level. If those subjecets are not listed for UPSC exam then take the ones in which you have the confidence of preparing. I suggesat you join a coaching class for 4 to 5 months durations before you apply for the 2012 prelims exam. Yes, start enhancing your GK adn knowledge of current affairs with immediate effect.

as it has to be first clear with u that in administrative exams all graduate students are eligible so it has to be tucked to in head that ,first of all.all the subjects in your UG/PG should be thorough,then most important , general knowledge,history , geography,current affairs,public administration and the most important a very good command of , English, Hindi and foremost the regional language,prepare for very tough essays,compromising for about 100 to 300 marks and for history and geography best 7,8,9,10 th N.C.E.R.T books by CBSE
