After successful completion of Diploma in Engineering course, students can either continue further Engineering studies by lateral entry admission in second year of B.Tech or take up entry level jobs in engineering organisation. Diploma holders get employment as technicians, technologists, supervisors, superintendents, foremen, machinist, workshop technicians etc. Diploma in Engineering can do AMIE Section A and B to become graduate engineer for career growth. If you do not have any personal conditions to work, you are advised to seek lateral entry admission in B.Tech second year else you may go for job. If you go for job then you may evaluate doing AMIE also.

Instead of doing job, you should go for engineering. You can for B.Tech (3 years) through lateral entry. Diploma holders in any stream are eligible to take admission, in the second year of the course. They must have done their Diploma after class 10th (3 year)with minimum 50% marks or after class 12th (2 year) and they need to qualify LEET. Various engineering colleges in India also offer direct admission to Diploma holders in second year of the course and in reputed institutes, after completing Diploma student gets entry in second year of B.Tech through LEET. Integrated Program in Management at IIM Indore first of its kind management program by any IIM in India. It is a unique and creative programme meant for young students after 10+2 stage who have managerial and leadership aspirations. IIM Indore mould students as outstanding leaders through a world-class education. Last two years of the programme I.e. IV and V year are at Post-graduate level and the IPM students are mixed with the flagship PGP programme students of IIMI and they go through the same set of courses as the PGP programme. Hence the learning goals for these two years are the same as that of the PGP Programme.
