Hi Akshu,
To pursue a career in lectureship or teaching you need to either go for M.Phil or PhD programs or need to sit for NET depending on the Institute you are applying to. If you are going for AICTE approved Institutes who majorly give Management and technology related PG diploma programs you can apply if you have a Masters level degree and a PhD or M.Phil whereas if you are planning to apply to the Universities and colleges coming under University you need to clear NET. So if you have interest in Literature you can gor for MA in English through a UGC recognized University and then apply for NET Examination.
Hope this resolves your q
