There is a lot of importance of MBA to one's career and in many ways you could think of. Ideally a business Schools should not act like a placement agency but rather should prepare you for a career. This is the main objective of the B School.
Inorder to choose a Good Business school which has good placements you always have to look at the credentials of the Business School and what are their objectives in general.I say this because I am a student at the Educomp MAPS institute doing MBA and have secured My summer internship with Nomura which is world's leading investment bank.
All the first batch as been placed because of great exposure being given to us and the placements team headed by Prof jayaraman who is IIM-A alumnus and have a lot of industry contacts.
Its in MAPS that every student is asked to focus on his career . It has tie ups with reputed companies like Educomp who offer placements to the students of MAPS assured.

I Know it always happens these days with Bschool aspirants. As a current MBA students at the MAPS Group of instittions, I could say that for deciding the best college,you should always try to visit the college to see and rate the college on the following criterion.
1. Industry Linkages.
2. The faculty and Exposure
3. The Placements in general
Similar to you, i was a student searching for good options last year. Now i am a student at the Educomp MAPS Institute. I First of All we ave a lot of international faculty like from Raffles Singapore which is worldwide renowned.
I have secured my summer placements with Nomura which a World's leading investment bank and all of our batch was placed last year because the placements team are from the IIM's
There is also job assurance given to us by MNC's like Educomp before we join

I am a current student of MBA at the MAPS group of institutions and I can confidently say that every BSchool aspirant goes through this.
At MAPS group of Institutions the focus is laid on the Learning and not cramming that is why practical and hands on learning, industry training, entrepreneurship development sessions form an integral part of the academics here.

Yes its really important to take the GD/PI exam inorder to appear for the Gd/PI of a Good Business School of India. Dont ever consider the fact that since there are some Business Schools which can take you without CAT/MAT, they are good. As per AICTE norms they have to take them on the basis of some valid entrance exam only.
I am currently a student at the MAPS group of institutions and I can proudly say that its been great been a part of this schools. I have received fabulous mentoring and thus have landed by with a job in Nomura Financials services which is a leading bank in the world.
Here all the batchjgot place, all of our batch was placed last year because the placements team are from the IIM's.
Similarly you could evaluate your options well. but do remember to take CAT/MAT exams as you might skip some other important stuff.

Its because that some of the Business Schools have their seats filled up as a result of which you keep on getting the calls from counselors regarding admission. i had the same experiences last year when I wanted to choose a b school Which was really good. it was then that i got MAPS business School.
At MAPS B Schools the selection of procedure is dependent not just on your academic excellence but also on your extra curriculars. So if you have been the School of the college captain or have been a good orator, you stand a good chance to get admission.
Its only MAPS which recognized the extracurriculars of a student rather than just marks. So if you have a low MAT score but through your credentials you could do better than others in the GD/PI and secure admission.
I am a student at the MAPS institute which is backed by MNC like Educomp and Raffles group which is internationally renowned for its higher education in singapore. In the first batch itself I secured a summer placements with Nomura which is world's leading investments banking firm. All the batch has been placed because the placements team at MAPS if from IIM- A having great contacts in the industry.
