Under option of Semester exchange student would spend a full semester at partner foreign university. After studying for a semester at a foreign partner University the student gets his/her credits transferred
back to LPU. This opportunity can be availed by student who have completed one year of study at
LPU. Other expenses relating to VISA, accommodation (where applicable), food and any other
charges of LPU or partner foreign university /institute have to borne by the student. A student interested for semester abroad should have 6.5 or above CGPA, no backlogs or
reappears, a valid Passport with more than six months of expiry, an offer letter from Partner foreign
University (which LPU will help you with), certain score in English Proficiency test (if required) and
Sufficient funds to manage visa, airfare and living expenses. Process for semester abroad is as
follows:Opportunities will be posted on University Management System by Division of
International Affairs. Student will read carefully the requirements of the semester abroad option. Student after paying application charges as per policy will sit for interview. After being shortlisted by the panel, the shortlisted applicants would get their assessment be

of Undergraduate programme or 1 year in case of Masters programme) at LPU and complete the rest
of his/her degree at a partner foreign university from USA, UK Canada, Australia or other countries. In such case students get the final degree from the foreign University abroad with which he/she
completes later part of the degree. It is cost effective as it saves almost 50% of the cost to get a
degree from the overseas university. Because you are going through tie-up, you do not need to be bothered about the subject
combinations of concerned university. But university may ask you do study some additional courses (either in LPU or after going abroad). For Example: A candidate wishes to go abroad for any
computer application programme but has not studied mathematics course in his previous qualification. In this case, depending upon the requirements of foreign university, the student may have to clear

Generally, a student would be visiting the foreign university on a Study Visa in case of credit
transfer. A student usually is allowed to work for 20 hours in a week during teaching period in
majority of the countries (except Switzerland). During the non-teaching period, the working hours can
get increased up to 40 hours per week. Otherwise, we need to consider the laws for students part time
jobs vary from country to country. In case you got study visa, then part time job opportunities are available. As you may be already aware, it is not legal for you to do part time jobs outside of University, except internships. You face the prospect of being deported back to your country. Lot of oncampus jobs you can do. Teaching assistance, and Research assistance are quite popular but difficult to get. There are lot of other jobs like library assistants, student patrol helping University police, restaurant jobs etc. You are allowed to work for maximum of 20 hours per week, and on an average you may get from $8 to 12 per hour. During semester holidays, they may not be available. By and large, thus should take care of your living expenses, Finding a part-time job while studying abroad is an invaluable way of digging into the local culture and earning some much-needed money. There are a number of creative ways to find jobs while studying abroad. Few of the options are :

Talking about Forensic Science, it was my dream to get enrolled in Forensic Science, and this dream came true through CHANDIGARH UNIVERSITY. I have visited many Government and Non government Universities. Inquired about Forensic Science department also visited there laboratories. Not the single university has enough facilities. But Chandigarh university has filled this space. Here, laboratories are equipped with sufficient instruments like HPLC, SEM, UV Spectrometer, and many microscopes which are used in Forensic Science Research. CU balances the practical and theoretical work equally. Along with it, CU arranges many cultural events and competitions for students and refreshment. Specially, In Forensic Science Department, there are many clubs like Investigatory club which manages to arrange many events like Crime scene investigation. Coming towards faculty, the university has experienced teachers which guides us on each step. They shares us study material on daily basis. The campus of university seems to be as home, away from home. The campus has enough facilities like medical service, banks and ATMs. The hostels are very well and have lift system. In campus, there are many cafeterias, also dominos, subway, nivia sports shopping centre. The university organizes international exchange programs which helps students to explore themselves. In Forensic Science, they provide short term internship and long term internship programs for students. On an average there are almost 4-5 guest lectures, 4 workshops, tech events, youth festival in one year. The campus is maintained cleaned all the time worth sufficient cleaning staff.
