The Indian Institutes of Management (Iims) offer a wide range of management courses at different levels of study. Here are the courses offered by Iims:
Post Graduate programme in Management (PGP) - This is a two-year full-time residential programme and the flagship course of all Iims. It is equivalent to an MBA degree and is designed to develop managerial skills and leadership qualities in students. Fellow programme in Management FPM This is a doctoral-level programme offered by all Iims. It is designed for candidates who aspire to pursue a career in research or teaching in the field of management. Executive Post Graduate programme in Management (EPGP) - This is a one-year full-time residential programme designed for experienced professionals who want to enhance their managerial skills and take their career to the next level. Post Graduate programme in Management for Executives (PGPX) - This is a one-year full-time residential programme designed for senior executives who want to acquire new skills and knowledge to take up leadership roles in their organizations. Post Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDM) - This is a two-year full-time programme offered by some Iims, which is similar to the PGP programme. The curriculum is designed to provide a strong foundation in management principles and practices. Post Graduate programme in Agribusiness Management (PGP-ABM) - This is a two-year full-time residential programme offered by some Iims. It is designed for students interested in pursuing a career in agribusiness management. Post Graduate programme in Public Policy and Management (PGP-PPM) - This is a one-year full-time programme offered by some Iims. It is designed for mid-career professionals interested in public policy and management. Post Graduate programme in Enterprise Management (PGP-EM) - This is a two-year part-time programme offered by some Iims. It is designed for working professionals who want to acquire management skills and knowledge while continuing to work. Apart from these courses, some Iims also offer specialised management programs in areas such as digital and social media marketing, sports management, entrepreneurship, business analytics, and more.

The scope of biotech in academics / teaching: Teaching is the noblest of all professions and must be undertaken by the smartest of souls in the industry. If you have the right understanding of the subject and you think you can ignite the flame of Research in your students then go for it. You will excel. The Scope of Biotech Research: I am not going to give you any shiny promises. You want to get into research jobs, enter only after your Ph.D, it has a huge scope for high paying salaries but your Ph.D must be in the relevant field and your IQ must match up with industry standards.
The scope of biotech sales & business development:
It's a simple field, you are good in communications, have an excellent understanding of consumer behavior as well as B2B business development, then you can nail this. Again my advice is to enter this only after your Master's degree. The scope in biopharma Industry: This is an evergreen industry and getting into QA/QC jobs or F&D jobs is one of the best options you have got.
The scope of MBA after a Biotech Degree: You really do not need an MBA degree after a Masters in Biotech/BioSciences/Life Sciences.

As far as the opportunities are considered, there is practically no difference when it comes to how the industry treats a PGDM or MBA graduate. If you consider 9 out of top 10 B schools in India, they offer PGDM and not MBA. Career growth is same in both and honestly speaking, at the level of Post graduate degree, growth opportunities are dependent upon individuals performance and not on whether it is a PGDM or MBA. When it comes to entrance level, the recruiter does not discriminate the candidates on his type of degree (PGDM or MBA) and also never during his appraisals / promotions or performance review, it lends a matter of substance. Starting packages are dependent on Colleges name and brand, and not whether it offers PGDM or an MBA. What matters more is the brand perception of the institute and alumni base and how the respective industry treats your institute. However, when we talk of higher studies, yes, there is a difference; and having an MBA degree helps you a bit more than PGDM. Though the difference is really miniscule, but when it comes to evaluating your degree an MBA awards you with Masters and PGDM with a Masters- Diploma. So if you are not looking for higher studies, then the degree does not really matter. What matters is your alma-mater, the industry perception and similar aspects.
