there are number of universities who are well recognised and approved by govt. and gives degrees only thru distance mode. For instance, annamalai university, sikkim manipal university, amity univesity,LPU, PTU and The Global Open University of Nagaland.
out of these, i recommend most " The Global Open University of Nagaland" becasue merely it not gives u a degree but it has wide recogniton outside india as well. And, above all, it gives a number of facilities like online study at ur own pace, on demand exam facility (rarely found in other universities) and it is very economical as compared to other univesities.(for more information log on to www.tgouonline.com)

Ekta.I live in Manchester. I go past this Kaplan International College almost everyday on my way to work. This college is actually located in the 6th floor of an office building. I saw photos of MITSOM college in the internet. This entire office building where Kaplan is located is barely one tenth of the size of MITSOM. I think about 20 to 30 students study in this college. Mostly from arab countries and a few from China. There is a mini supermarket in the ground floor, a cafe and a sports goods shop. There is also an embassy located somehere in this building (I think it is Portugal). There are also some companies located in this building. There is no car park. No college canteen. Students have to come to the platform to get some fresh air. This building is located at the heart of the city.almost right in the city centre. Plenty of traffic. Lots of noise. Right next to the building there is a tram station and a big bus terminus with buses coming and going almost every second. The gap between each vehicle going past this college is about 30 to 60 inches. You can imagine the traffic. Is there anything else you want to describe about KIC or have I said enough?

its ur life and u hv full right to take decisions for ur career. so, if doing btech from iit is ur passion, then it is strongly advisable for u to go for it and start preparing for the next year exams right from today itself. put all your efforts n dedication and take the coaching classes also if u think that u may do better by joining them. do not leave any effort and u will definitely join IIT next year.
And, as far as this one year duration is concerned, it doesn't matter much. the thing which matters most is ur passion n ur interest so that u never feel guilty in the later part of ur life tht ur life could be much better if u hv joined IIT.your decision is absolutely right. just go for it.
