Hi Nidhi,
Although, you have not mentioned the complete details about your educational background, but in bank also there are various divisions like IT division, Front Office, Back office, Sales & Marketing etc. So if you want to get into hard core banking jobs which are mostly related to accounts & Finance you need to have a commerce background for that either at School level or at a degree level like B.Com, M.Com or CA etc. but if you are planning to get into non commerce divisions as in Sales & Marketing etc. you can go for it.
Another option for you could be to sit for various Entrance Examinations conducted by banks like Bank PO etc

I dont think it would be a good decision as this is basically a LAB based program and doing science subjects in correspondence would be a wrong decision

I would like to say although there are many Institutes giving PhD programs but Institutes giving PhD in field in particular you are looking for would not be easy to find more so because you are looking for a part time program. However, few of the Institutes which are offering Part time PhD programs are:
IIT Kanpur (the Candidates sponsored by organizations in Kanpur may be eligible for a part-time PhD program)
Kalasalingam University
Institute for Social and Economic Change
JNTU Hyderabad
Malaviya National Institute of Technology Jaipur

Getting yourself qualified with a Post graduation and then a B.Ed would be the best option for you. Coz. upon completion of your PG you have wider options available for you. and then after completion of your B.Ed then you avenues in teaching would come up more openly.
