In today's time, the scope of astronomy in India is very good but not so vast as like in foreign countries and it takes at least eight to nine years to complete the course and you have to do Ph.D also. But if you have interest in this, I would advice you go for it even I want to do Ph.D in astronomy. Astronomy's scope is currently increasing in India so in five to six years this will gonna be a very big network. If you want to do it in less time, I will suggest you do it abroad as it takes less time.

You could try for National Institute of Event Management (Mumbai) or EMDI (Mumbai). They offer a good programme structure as well as placements. If you do not wish to continue with your studies, you can try to find internships or jobs at Event management agencies like Percept or DNA Entertainment Networks.

Hi Mehma,
There are education loans from Indian banks. The scholarship is possible but will depend on your profile and the university. Scholarships are on merit basis and no one can really predict. 85% is a very good percentile. If your overall application that is your SOP, Essay, recommendation letters, IELTS scores etc. Are very good then there is a chance. You should start checking university websites and learn about the admission requirements. More importantly is the deadline. If you are aiming for a scholarship submit the best application you could and before the deadlines. The more you delay the less chance will be for admission

In SIES, the cut-off for MMS is more than 98 percentile, so chances of getting SIES are very low.
I don't have any idea about PUMBA.
Just go through the last year's cut-off of colleges and apply for CAP round.
Best of luck.

Hello Ravina,
Even though marks obtained in one's graduation is important, its the marks obtained in entrance exam that matters more. However at IIM A, things are further complicated since the institution desires that the class should have diversity hence they admit students even if with lower ranking in entrance test if from exotic subject of graduation.

I personally don't recommend petroleum engineering as your Bachelor's degree. Always pursue your Bachelor's degree in core sector, so that you can have a strong backup. Moreover, as this sector is cyclic in nature, it does't assure you jobs in odd times. Petroleum engineering very specialised and streamlined course. It is better to choose such courses at Master's level. If you pursue your degree in mechanical, chemical, civil or any other core branch, the basic fundamentals will remain same. As petroleum engineering is applied branch, fundamentals from your Bachelor will be useful. Anyone can enter in Petroleum engineering but vice ver

You could join under the Masters programme M.Des and MFM). You will however have to write the entrance test NIFT conducts every year during the month of February. Your UG background remains irrelevant if you can get past the test and have the right creative aptitude. And, Engineers are cool people who are able to understand and grasp anything easily. The salary package has a wide range. Anything between 4 - 9 Lacs p. a. But there are a few tier-1 companies like trident that offer more. I've heard it goes upto 15 Lacs p.a.
Good luck.
