There are still people working in these area, but the major problem is funding. Even though the funding is huge, but it is concentrated only in a few bunch of colleges. Also, with the advent of new technology, there has been a shift of focus towards renewable resources I guess. But, if you check in universities outside India, there is still a large amount of research, which is happening in this area.

Hi Jayesh,
Firstly, I would ask you, if you really love Maths or not? If no, then don't even think about it and if yes, then to be very honest, Commerce with Maths is really very important. It actually depends on two things. One is vicinity to your place. So, if you can provide people the exact area where you are searching a college, it would be of better help for them to suggest you. Second factor is your score. Once you provide those information, I think people can guide you better and can come out with some specific colleges to suggest you.

Generally, any student, regardless of his study background can get into a BCA course. Some colleges do segregate according to Maths and Non Maths students, as some colleges do give admissions to the students having Maths as a class 12th subject. And, BCA is a computer oriented course, you will or might face some problems that the students of commerce/computer and science/CS students do not face.
Having prior knowledge of computer is an advantage for the CS students, as the first month
