Well, as correctly mentioned by Archi, you seem too confused and it is better to get some time out for yourself and think well as to what you are keen to go for and capable about. It is not about your parents or the world but about your career which holds the prime concern.
Other than this, failing 12th may not be the last thing in the world but definitely is among the first few things for further growth and should be concerned as a necessity to grow in life/ career. I would seriously suggest you to take up a stand and write your 12th again. If not in science, take some other subjects and write in those itself.
NIOS can hold some scope for students who are keen to write 12th without going to schools or deploy more time in the class room and you can also look for other courses/ streams as well.

As Shiksha is an Education portal which believes in giving unbiased guidance it would be unfair on my part to give my personal opinion on a particular Institute. However, frankly speaking the opinion on this may vary from person to person so you need to do a self analysis on these two institutes and take a well informed decision, reason being there are no regional ranking available for these institutes on the basis of which you can take a decision.
However, accoding to the general opinion and in my opinion too MAIT is more reputed and have a better standing in the job market. Few of the things I would suggest you to consider while choosing the institute are: First and foremost the recognition of the Institute (the institute must be recognized by UGC or AICTE), Secondly, the course curriculum and the study material, the infrastructure, the faculty(their educational background), the placement, last but not least Institutes reputation in the job market for which you should visit the institute and try and talk to the current batch students and get few of the alumnae contacts as well. This will give you a real picture about the institute.
