You have to prepare for UPSC examination. The notification of the examination is made in December. The recruitment of the candidates is based on the written test, Physical Efficiency test and a medical test conducted by UPSC. The test comprises of two papers of question. The first paper includes two sections of questions. The test includes 150 questions of objective type format. The first section includes seventy five questions of General Ability questions. Second section consists of seventy five questions to analyze the professional skills of the candidates. The total marks awarded for the test is three hundred. The second paper is mainly for evaluating the candidates essay writing skills and English language usage. For the correct answers two marks are awarded and there is no negative marking for incorrect answers. The total time allotted for completing the exam is two and a half hours. Those who clear the written test will be called for the physical test. The upper age limit for the candidates to apply for the test is 35 years. Well I can only suggest you to have patience for your CAT result and in the meanwhile I would advice you to prepare on traits like confidence, communication, personality development, current affairs as they'll help you crack GD/PI.
Work on key factors like humility, patience, objectivity, open-mindedness and an ability to look at things from other people's points of view so as to proactively participate in the discussion. As per your query do not be negative over your score, as I believe that if you have worked hard, surely no one on this planet earth going to stop you from tasting success.
I would personally suggest you, not to go for direct admission as that is in a way unfair and against the norms. Sit for CAT again in case you do not score satisfactory marks. You may even sit for other exams like MAT/FMS/AIIMA, etc.
