To be a game designer you can pursue BCA/MCA or a Bachelor's degree in multimedia and animation. Short term certification in animation in also available. Key skills required are interest in creativity, design and animation. If you don't have your interest and creative bent of mind no qualification will help. After your Bachelor's degree you can consider going abroad for a PG course.

It 's hard to answer which is better as you did not mention which college are you comparing with. Once you get into IIMA, you need not worry about placements. Banks would be waiting for you to give the loan, I still remember my first day in college when many bank managers and their staff approached my parents and me, asking us to take the loan from their bank with minimal procedure and documentation.
