Both the fields of Pharmacy are good and opting for either of the two would actually depend on your interest intend and career aspirations.
Pharmacology deals with the study of drugs like understanding the properties of the drug, its effects, toxicology etc.This field trains students for the research.
Pharmaceutics on the other hand is professional course which studies the relation between drug formulation, delivery, disposition and response.
The two specializations offer bright career scope and eventual growth, depending on your performance, knowledge and hard work.
As you mentioned of your interests in Pharmacology, you can definitely opt for the same. There are many research labs which require dedicated researchers in this field, and not just this one can take up the job in the private research labs of various Pharma companies / Hospitals as well.

Different Institutes will have different eligibility critirea and as most of the good institutes have an entrance examination to select students so, they do accept students with different graduation streams one of the examples in GGSIP wherein the eligibility is graduation with 50% marks.
