In my opinion there is best or worst engineering and it is the individual who is going to study he/ she has to decide which is interest him/ her and will suit his/ her career goals. The traditional engineering streams are always safe and great option, and these are always in great demand for those who develop employability skills along with their engineering degree without which the degree is just a piece of paper. Since from CEO to COO and from CTO to CMO, an engineering degree had given them some benefits but the key to their success is not the particular stream of engineering but their brilliant employability skills. Yes everyone is gaga over the p[etroleum sector, yes it milks cash other than oil. This is one of the best when coming to pursue something in this competitive edge. I would recommend you UPEs the best one ranked for Petroleum Engineering and the placement and faculty is another reason for it. GIve it a go.

Chemical engineers have technical knowledge of chemistry, biochemistry, engineering, materials science and information technology. However, they also know about economics, management, safety and the environment. The tools used include sophisticated scientific experiments, the latest developments in computing, and large-scale pilot plants.

I guess that the field that suits one and interests us, we must choose that. For purely academic reasons it is more easier and interesting to study what we love. People think of packages and opt for specializations like IT or Computers which provide them a better package.
But if that doesn't interest you then there's no point in studying it, rather opt for a field that will keep us happy and content and that which we find interesting to make a career and profession.

It is a tricky issue, closing in on a specialization. I am actually confused between Computers, IT and EXTC. All have a bright scope, but looking at the boom in the IT industry, most people are drawn to it. But i also find computer engineering an interesting field.

Architecture engineering is one of the top career choices in India. There are multiple opportunities in this field for architects equally in private and public sectors. Skilled professionals can seek employment in government organizations such as city development, state and central public work, departments, municipalities, housing and urban development corporation. The most advantaged scope in the field of architecture is private practice. After gaining some experience in an organization, the architects can set up their own company.
Professionals in this career can also opt for teaching jobs in universities and colleges.

In my view Computer Science is the best stream in engineering. At the end of day students all disciplines are opting a Software Job. Instead doing job irrelevant to their studies one can go for computer's stream in engineering so that it will help them grow better in software industry. Many Electrical Students go for M.Tech after there U.G. but after there master's they are again opting a Software Job. So there two years of studying is waste without applying what they have studied in their life. for electrical engineers one best suggestion is to do M.Tech in IIT's, NIT's and IIIT's or go for M.S in USA or foreign countries where electr

From my point of view Today "Civil Engineering" sector is most in demand and in coming Days it will remain also. Apart from Civil,
At the time of Recession, where Millions of people lost there job all over world. Two uneffedted Sectors were Real Estate/Construction and Health care.
Civil Engineering is a sector which will never lost its charm weather it is India or Foreign. Yeah recently at the time of economic breakdown in Dubai has witnessed few lost of jobs in this sector but its a different matter and the rest of the world was not effected so.
